New Year, New Purpose, New Blog

Today is the official launch of my brand new website, A Royal Daughter! With this New Year comes a new purpose, a new passion, and a new blog. I have been looking forward to this day for months, and it’s finally here!

Now that I’ve moved to WordPress, GFC is no longer an option for following along. If you want to stay updated on the latest posts (and pretty much make my day) please subscribe to my posts. You can also sign up to receive posts in your inbox, just check out the fancy schmancy widget over there in the sidebar.

Feel free to explore the new site, but I’m warning you  now, it’s still a little bit under construction.

Today would not be possible without the help of three amazing ladies.

Ashley Ashley of Bow & Arrow Art hand drew my new logo. We worked together (quite painlessly) to create the beautiful new logo that you see. I’m trying to convince her to work with me on custom blog designs. I need a little help coaxing her though, hint hint. Check out her unique card designs, and go shopping at Bow & Arrow Art.

Nicole Nicole of the Style Hatch was basically “on call” for me for a good part of last weekend as I learned WordPress. She selflessly texted, e-mailed, messaged, and even took step-by-step screenshots of what I needed to do. That girl blesses me in so many ways, and I am not exaggerating when I say that I wouldn’t have been able to launch today without her help. You can view her blog design services at the Happy Blogger Café.

Jac Jac at BabEBlessings voluntarily took a good hour out of her day yesterday to video chat with me and walk me through some more WordPress training. Mr. E. and I were both singing her praises last night, because not only did she provide valuable technical support, but she also helped calm my nerves! Jac’s blog designs are available on her website, BabEBlessings Designs.

Yesterday afternoon my mom shared Psalm 65:11 with me and asked me to create a print for her for the New Year. Of course I said yes, and I today I’m sharing it with you as a downloadable printable!

  3. All I can say is that when I am ready for a new blog design-custom and all that-your team is going to be my team. I love your new header-kind of hippie-ish.=) And the colors are great. Congratulations on the new site! WordPress is a little trick but I love it. You get more customization over all other platforms. I moved in October & I wouldn’t have it any other way. I hope you have a great 2013!

  20. By the way…how can I save that as a background on my computer screen? Usually I can right click an image, but I don’t see it as an option. I would love to have it displayed on my computer:) Thanks!

  21. Christine says:

One word. WOW! I just revamped (read: am still working on like crazy) my blog and this is QUITE the inspiration! Except I am still on blogger. Hmm. Maybe time to graduate? In any case – your site looks stupendous and is completely driving me to keep moving forward!

    • Amanda says:

Thanks Christine! If you decide to move to WordPress just be aware that there’s quite a money investment up front! If you have questions let me know!

  22. Love the new site! You are so brave to make the switch! I’ve been mulling it over for months! Also I love the printable. Any chance this will be a monthly occurrence?
    Happy 2013!!

  23. I love the new site! It looks great! I saw your tweets over the last few days while you were working so hard to get the site launched. Hope you are glad you did… looking at the site, seems totally worth it. Congrats on the great start to the new year!

    • Amanda says:

Thanks Laura! It was a rough couple of sleep-deprived days, but I made it! I’m still working out the kinks, but hopefully that won’t last too long!

  25. The site looks amazing! I love the color scheme, you are so talented. :)
Also, just wanted to mention… you noticed my bow (in one of my posts) matched my background. :) YES… I bought the fabric to make that bow. I feel in love with the polka dots and the color scheme, so it was my inspiration for my new blog design. :) I created the background to match the fabric exactly. ♥

  26. I love the new design!!! The new logo fits you so well too! Welcome to WP friend!! And Happy New Year!!!

  27. Love the new down-to-earth color scheme, great logo/illustration and your move to WP was seamless. No break in my RSS feed. Congrats on the move! Can’t wait to see what 2013 brings for you. So, you are responding to comments via the blog now? And would love to know how you made your banner with clickable and hover-changing-color links :) .

    • Amanda says:

Thank you Julie! I’m SOOO glad to know there were no breaks in the feed! And yes, I’ll be answering comments here now. Unless something is to personal to share publicly. :)

The banner + clickable links is all part of the coding. (The banner is a .png graphic!)

  28. i love this amanda. beautiful. how do you like the switch. i am seriously thinking about doing wordpress. im liking the look alot more lately. it looks so much cleaner to me.

    • Amanda says:

Thank you so much, Julie! So far I’m loving it – although at times I want to pull my hair out! :) Just be warned: There’s quite a bit of investment involved with switching, so you might need to plan for that.

  29. Love, love, love your new space!!

  30. Tehila says:
